About the event
History of barn quilts began in America over 300 years ago with settlers from Europe coming to the new world. They painted quilt patterns on barns to ward off evil spirits and as a way to honor loved family members. They became a way to identify farms and were used to give directions to travelers.
About your teacher Cindy Pullyard:
Retired Accountant from 40 years service, turned teacher & artist for the past three years. I’ve been sewing & fabric quilting since a young age, painting since high school. Barn quilts have been a way for me to combine those two art forms and meet new people as I share this craft.
I’ve seen over 300 new barn quilts created in my classes since starting to teach in May 2023.
